Analyzing the previous year's results, the Police Chief touched upon a number of drawbacks and shortcomings.
In his speech Vladimir Gasparyan highlighted the priority of improvement of moral and psychological climate among the staff, and emphasized that ambition and professionalism should underlie policing, any selfish ends should be excluded and under no circumstances should the principle of the rule of law have exclusions.
Vladimir Gasparyan noted that 2014 will be a crucial year for fight against crime, in particular, in the spheres of combatting illegal arms and ammunition trafficking, disarmament of armed groups and groupings, detecting and rendering harmless of criminal elements and their associated "families".
The police chief gave definite instructions to the GMD officers and urged to be guided by the principles of their profession, to act resolutely, in compliance with the powers prescribed to the Police by law.
Vladimir Gasparyan also touched upon the results of the current reforms in the police system and outlined the future plans. The Police chief spoke about a number of current issues such as the so-called “Sevan basin” problem, the problems of improvement of social  status of workers and their working conditions, as well as that of  logistics of workplace.
