08.11.2022 14:01 Herald of Police

On November 7, RA Deputy Chief of Police, Police Colonel Ara Fidanyan received the delegation headed by James Applegate, Director of the Europe and Asia Programs of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the US State Department.
Welcoming the guests, Ara Fidanyan highly appreciated the cooperation with the American partners and noted that quite thorough joint work has been done within the framework of ongoing reforms in the police, in particular, in the direction of the creation of the patrol police, technical re-equipment, and training of patrols.
James Applegate, thanking for the warm reception, emphasized that the American side is impressed by the progress made with the reforms and expressed readiness to continue cooperation and support for the modernization of the Armenian police and the improvement of the quality of services.
During the meeting, a number of issues were raised regarding the newly formed Ministry of Internal Affairs, the introduction of the water patrol service, and the increase in the level of women's involvement in the service.
As part of the visit, the delegation headed by James Applegate also visited the patrol service and the Police Educational Complex.
