Roundtable discussion held at the initiative of the Office of Human Rights Defender of Armenia (VIDEO and PHOTOS)

On Wednesday December 10, 2014, the Office of Human Rights Defender of Armenia (HRDO) initiated and organized a round-table discussion dedicated to the Human Rights Day. The event brought together Heads of eight agencies, namely Minister of Defence of Armenia, Mr. Seyran Ohanyan, Head of the Armenian Government Staff, Minister David Harutyunyan, Armenian Minister of Education and Science Mr. Armen Ashotyan, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Aghvan Hovsepyan, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Hovhannes Manukyan, Head of Police of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Vladimir Gasparyan and Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Gagik Harutyunyan.
Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Karen Andreasyan, touching upon the results of the cooperation with the above-mentioned agencies, highly appreciated the activity of the Armenian Police in several areas.
In the course of the discussion the roundtable participants presented the partnership process with the HRDO of Armenia, current tasks and problems, and provided a detailed overview of their activity spheres, as well as the priorities in the organization of their further activities.
Mr. Vladimir Gasparyan, speaking about the Police-HRDO partnership, mentioned that the joint work has yielded serious results and assured that every effort will be made to further expand and deepen it.
Congratulating on occasion of the International Human Rights Day. Vladimir Gasparyan presented Karen Adreasyan with a souvenir with the emblem of Armenian Police on it.  
Upon completion of discussion the Head of Police gave a briefing to the mass media representatives.
