Paruyr Hayrikyan shot

About 23:20 on January 31, Armenian presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan was shot in the yard of the house 9 on Tpagrichneri street.
P. Hayrikyan got a gunshot wound in the collar-bone and was transferred to “Saint Grigor Enlightener” medical center.
A criminal case was initiated on the fact under the article 34-605 of the Criminal code of the Republic of Armenia (assassination attempt against a state, political or social figure).
As a result of crime scene observation, a 7.62 mm calibre bullet was found.
Complex examinations are assigned.
The necessary measures on identifying the offender and detecting him are being undertaken.
The investigation is conducted by the Investigation department of the NSS of the Republic of Armenia.
