Armenian Police Chief’s congratulation on coming New Year and Christmas

On behalf of the Board of the RA Police and myself, I would like to heartily congratulate the entire staff of the Police, their families and all our citizens on the occasion of the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays.
The end of 2014 is particularly noteworthy because we are summing up not just another year, but the triennium of drastic reforms in the Police which signifies a qualitative shift to a new professional, functional and structural level of the Police system.
Three years ago we set ourselves a task to renew everything, starting from the very ideology of the Police and ending with the Police uniform, and to reach a new level of professional readiness, technical equipment and social maintenance. Today we can state that the tasks envisaged with the three-year reform program have already been performed. Due to the consistent implementation of the policy adopted by the Police, there has been a significant icrease in both the public confidence in Police as well as the civilian oversight of police activities — perhaps, the most important goal achieved.
The hardest thing is breaking the deep-rooted stereotypes. We have managed to do that for the past 3 years and today there is an active collaboration between the society and the Police, beetween the citizen and the police officer inside whom law enforcer and citizen are in constant dialogue with each other.
Really, we have gone through a path of huge work but it is not our usual practice to be satisfied with anything that we've done. Giving up will mean falling not into the trap of stagnation but that of regress. Therefore we will keep on moving forward along the chosen path of reforms which has no alternative.
We will keep on eliminating our drawbacks, correcting previous mistakes and shortcomings and the Police will keep on enrolling new generation of police officers who stand out with new principles and new way of thinking. We are committed to formation of such a Police which is demanded by our people and our time. 2015 will be not a haven but a new starting point marking the beginning of the second triennium of police reforms.
I am convinced that we will fulfil that next stage with great dedication and strong ambition, taking one more step towards the point where those who will come after us won't have to create something new but add something to what has been done by us for the sake of the future’s newest.
We believe in our course.
Happy New Year!
My warmest congratulations to everyone on the occasion of the Holy birth of our Lord who blesses us in all our endeavors.
May the Lord bless you and protect.

Head of the RA Police,
