The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Receives the Delegations of the European Union and the US Embassy in Armenia

On January 25, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Vahe Ghazaryan received the delegations of the European Union and the US Embassy in Armenia, led by Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin and Chargé d'Affaires of the the US Ambassador in Armenia Chip Leitinen.
Welcoming the guests, the Minister highly appreciated the effective cooperation with the European Union delegation and the US Embassy, which has been developing more and more in recent years. He pointed out a number of reforms being implemented with the invaluable help of the guests. Ghazaryan expressed eagerness to continue the cooperation to further contribute to having admirable services ready to overcome modern challenges.
The guests thanked for the warm reception as well as congratulated Ghazaryan on his appointment as the Minister of Internal Affairs.
Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin presented the implemented works, which include both police, rescue, and migration services. In this direction, the TAIEX program has been of utmost importance.
Chip Leitinen presented the work done by the anti-narcotics and law enforcement cooperation program of the embassy as well as the work done by the ICITAP. He particularly emphasized the cooperation in the direction of the establishment of the patrol service.
Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan and David Hambaryan presented the work being done in the spheres of formation of the Ministry and their coordination.
During the meeting, issues related to the communication and cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and civil society were also touched upon. The Minister of Internal Affairs expressed his willingness to continue the close and effective cooperation with the political society.
They discussed future tasks within the framework of cooperation, the continuation of reforms, the involvement of women in the services, the formation of the National Guard, the improvement of the educational environment, as well as a number of other issues of mutual interest.
