As a result of successive large-scale and coordinated operational investigative measures conducted by employees of the Police of the Republic of Armenia and the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia in cooperation with colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Albert Blbulian, DOB 1982, and Armen Karadavidov, DOB 1984, who were wanted on suspicion of committing a murder at the "Tufenkyan" hotel in Yerevan on September 14 were detained in the territory of Georgia.
The coordinated work with law enforcement officers of Georgia, which has already become a tradition and repeatedly given positive results in the joint struggle against crime thanks to complementary actions, this time proved especially effective.
Today, the extradition procedure of Albert Blbulian and Armen Karadavidov is being discussed with the Georgian colleagues.
It should be reminded that Albert Blbulian, Armen Karadavidov and Rafik Khachatryan, DOB 1957, opened fire on two citizens from the Makarov pistol and the Kalashnikov assault rifle on Hanrapetutyan street near the Tufenkyan hotel in Yerevan on September 14; 1 person was killed, one more - wounded.
On September 15, it was decided to prosecute Albert Blbulian, Armen Karadavidov and Rafik Khachatryan and put them on the wanted list.
As a result of large-scale and consistent operational-investigative measures, Rafik Khachatryan, DOB 1957, was found in Kotayk marz on September 22 and transported to the General Department of Criminal Investigation of the RA Police.
Measures to capture his two accomplices - Albert Blbulian, DOB 1982, and Armen Karadavidov, DOB 1984, - were continued in their entirety and gave the expected result.
The preliminary investigation is underway.
