Secretary-General of Interpol Pays a Working Visit to Armenia
On October 27, Secretary-General of Interpol Jürgen Stock paid a two-day working visit to Armenia at the invitation of the Chief of Police of The Republic of Armenia, Police Major General Vahe Ghazaryan.
The RA Chief of Police, the Secretary-General of Interpol, as well as the members of the police collegium laid a wreath at the memorial wall commemorating the policemen who had fallen while performing their official duties.
Vahe Ghazaryan, welcoming Jürgen Stock, highly appreciated the role and contribution of Interpol in the fight against international crime.
The RA Chief of Police mentioned that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the NCB in Armenia. He emphasized that more active cooperation is being implemented in the fight against cybercrime and financial crimes committed using digital technologies, illegal drug trafficking, organized crime, etc.
Interpol Secretary General Jürgen Stock thanked for the warm reception and pointed out several areas of important cooperation. He noted that 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of Interpol, and the key to the organization's effective operation is the work and close cooperation of Interpol's national central bureaus in the member states.
Ara Fidanyan, Deputy Chief of the RA Police, presented the ongoing reforms in the RA Police.
At the end of the meeting, RA Police Chief Vahe Ghazaryan awarded Interpol General Secretary Jurgen Shtok with the "For Strengthening Cooperation" medal.

Welcoming the staff of the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Armenia, The RA Chief of Police congratulated them with a 30th anniversary badge. He noted that the Interpol NCB in RA has taken its unique place among the rest of the NCBs in the fight against international crime.
Interpol Secretary General Jürgen Stock also gave a congratulatory speech. He emphasized the important work carried out by the bureau, thanked for cooperation, the purpose of which is to make the world safer.
The Head of the NCB of Interpol in Armenia, Police Colonel Narine Hakobyan thanked Jürgen Stock and Vahe Ghazaryan for their good wishes, noting that the bureau will continue to fulfill its tasks with honor within the framework of the fight against crime.
Vahe Ghazaryan awarded a group of police officers distinguished by their conscientious service.
