Another illegal deforestation case has been detected

On November 28 at 17:50 the police officers of the General department on struggle against organised crime, Syuniq provincial department and Kapan division, on a suspicion of an illegal deforestation, detained Armen O., born in 1979, and his «VAZ-2102» model automobile from Yerkatughayinneri street of Kapan town. He reported that in the period from 25-th to 28-th November he cut down hornbeam and oak trees from Chakaten village adjacent forest.
As a result of the examination the police officers found 0.5 sq.m. timber from his car, 0.9 sq. m. timber from his garden and 2.85 sq.m. from his garden house.
Armen O. also reported that he had left 1 sq.m. timber in the forest to transport it then.
An investigation is underway.
