Today We Commemorate the 39 Police officers Fallen in the Shushi Riots

On November 7, 2020, 39 officers of the police forces sacrificed their lives for the defense of Shushi.
On the occasion of Tarelit, Police Chief, Police Major General Vahe Ghazaryan visited one of the military units of the police forces and paid tribute.
Vahe Ghazaryan, commander of the police forces Hayk Babayan and the leadership of the military unit laid a wreath at the memorial wall that perpetuates the memory of the fallen policemen.
In the 44-day Artsakh war, police troops participated in defensive battles in Karvachar, Haterk, Jrakan and Lisagor. They participated in the defense of Karintak from November 4. The first policeman was killed on November 5- the deputy commander of the regiment, colonel Artyom Mirzoyan. On the way to Shushi, 3 police officers were killed as well.
The hottest battle took place on November 7. On that day, the commander of the military unit of the police forces, colonel Armen Vardanyan and 38 policemen were killed in Shushi.
