Statement of Police of the Republic of Armenia for New Year's Eve (VIDEO)

Honorable compatriots!  Ahead of us New Year and Christmas holidays which are always celebrated with high spirits. People traditionally cherish great expectations for the New Year and pin their hopes on it.
This Year, as in previous years, Traffic Police of the Republic of Armenia will be carrying out an enhanced service in all the settlements and republican highways on New Year’s Eve  and during the following holidays.
Statistics prove the effectiveness and need for that initiative: there has been a sharp decrease in the number of road traffic accidents and those who were injured or dead in RTAs during the previous New Year holidays, and all this, surely due to the enhanced service carried out by Armenian Traffic police.
Honorable drivers, we are urging You not to drink and drive, since even one drink containing alcohol can affect driving ability. Traffic Police are notifying that no mercy will be shown to drunk drivers.
Honorable citizens, assist the Police in ensuring traffic safety by establishing a mutual control and spreading propaganda.
During the New Year holidays Police will be performing their functions especially thouroughly, but we expect You – road users - to display a high sense of justice, once more reminding that breach of traffic rules risks Your own safety and health.
Honorable compatriots!  Police urges You to keep the safety rules while making fireworks in order to exclude accidents and breaches of public order and safety. We would like to once more remind You that the use of pyrotechnics during night hours – from 23:00 to 07:00 – leads to a monetary penalty in the amount of 100 000 AMD imposed by The Republic of Armenia Code on administrative offences. Simultaneously we would like to inform You that in compliance with the decree of the RA Government as of August 9, 2012, the use of fireworks is allowed from 23:00, December 31 to 1:00, January 1.
Police of the Republic of Armenia once more urge You to adhere to the letter of the law, warning that every offender will be held liable in the manner  prescribed by law.
Dear friends, we are urging You to keep the co-existence rules, display mutual respect and tolerance. Lets jointly exclude every possibility of casualties and accidents and turn the arrival of the New Year into a real holiday.
Police of the Republic of Armenia heartily congratulate you on the holidays of Christmas and the New Year, wishing you prosperity, lots of happiness and success this upcoming year.
