Statement

Today, since the very morning, participants of the unauthorized meeting held in the capital, have been blocking streets in various parts of the capital following the appeals made earlier by the meeting organizers, thus impeding the free entry to and exit from adjacent buildings and structures, as well as free movement of vehicles and other citizens.
According to paragraph 6 of Article 30 of the RA Law "On Freedom of Assemblies", the participant of the meeting is obliged not to impede the free access to buildings, structures or other territories located at the meeting place or adjacent to it.
According to clause 4 of paragraph 1 of article 32 of the same law, the Police is obliged to provide free access to and exit from buildings, structures or other areas located at or near the meeting place.
We call on citizens participating in the illegal meeting to properly imply fulfill their obligations vested in law, to avoid the use of proportional measures of legal effect for committing the aforementioned offenses.
Simultaneously, Police are ready to assist in holding a peaceful assembly in a place that does not lead to disproportionate restrictions on the rights and freedoms of other citizens.
