Georgian citizen detained at checkpoint Bavra in connection with threats uttered in Russia
Thanks to special measures taken by officers from the General Department on Combating Organized Crime, Shirak Marz Department and Ashotsk division of Police of the Republic of Armenia, a 47-year-old Georgian citizen was detained at the Bavra checkpoint on August 26 at 09.45 am. The foreigner had been wanted by the law enforcement bodies of Samara oblastof the Russian Federation on charges in part 1 of article 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (threat to murder, inflict damage to health) since December 10, 2014.
Note: Everyone charged with a criminal offence shall be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia and found guilty by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
