Armenia Launches Dialogue on Liberalization of Visa Regime with EU Member States (PHOTOS)
In the framework of the Comprehensive & Enhanced Partnership Agreement between the European Union & Armenia (CEPA), signed in November 2017 and ratified in April 2018, the Republic of Armenia has launched a dialogue on visa liberalization with EU member states.
On January 15-17, the delegation of the Republic of Armenia headed by Deputy Police Chief, Police Colonel Hovhannes Kocharyan visited the Federal Republic of Germany.
The delegation was comprised of Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Davit Sargsyan, Head of the European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tigran Samvelyan, Head of the Migration Service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development Armen Ghazaryan.
During the visit, the delegation members met with the Chairperson of the Council of Interior Ministers of the Federal Republic of Germany, Holger Stahlknecht, Minister of the Interior and Sports of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Sport of Saxony-Anhalt, Helmut Taykhman, Deputy Political Director of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Special Representative of the Federal Government of Germany forEast Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia, Michael Zibert. and the chairwoman of the Bundestag committee on internal affairs Andrea Lindholz (CSU).
During the meetings, the German side expressed satisfaction for effective cooperation on the basis of international legal documents on readmission (readmission), emphasizing the high level of mutual trust and willingness to meet Armenia's legitimate expectations.
During the meetings, the parties highlighted the need to clarify the fundamental provisions of the future action plan for the liberation of the visa regime, the scope of mutual obligations and terms of their implementation, to discuss other issues of mutual interest.
