Police urge to comply with requirements of the law

During the rally organized by 17 political parties on the Republic Square on December 22, an announcement was made, the implementation of the actions indicated in which may contain signs of corpus delicti, provided for in Article 301.1 of the RA Criminal Code.
In particular, the following was noted: “So far, the “My Step” faction has not responded in any way. Thus, it makes us more determined, makes us stronger. So from now on we must work with every member of the "My Step" faction. Soon after that, we will one by one publish the names of all deputies of the “My Step” faction, and the citizens of the Republic of Armenia are free in their actions and in their decisions, so if they do not understand the public demand, then, yes, we must force them to convene a session of Parliament. If they do not understand that the fate of our country depends on their vote and their behavior, then we must let them understand together. "
In accordance with part 1 of Article 301.1 of the RA Criminal Code, coercion against the President of the Republic, the National Assembly, the Government, the Constitutional Court by the use of violence or the threat of violence against them, to commit or not to commit any action arising from their powers, which is not aimed at seizing power, is punished by imprisonment for a term of three to ten years. Part 2 of the same article envisages punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years for the same acts, if they entail grave consequences.
The RA Police calls on to refrain from making statements of such content and taking actions indicated in such statements, and warns that any illegal action will receive an adequate response from the RA Police.
