International and interagency cooperation as a cornerstone in the fight against crime: Workshop held on INTERPOL Notices and Diffusion System

On November 10, a workshop organized by Interpol Notices and Diffusions Task Force was held in Yerevan. Participants included representatives from the Interpol National Central Bureau in the Republic of Armenia, other competent departments of the Criminal Police General Department, the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Anti-Corruption Committee and the Investigative Committee.

Narine Hakobyan, Police Colonel, Deputy Head of the Criminal Police General Department of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Head of the Interpol National Central Bureau in the Republic of Armenia, emphasized in her speech the effective and active cooperation between law enforcement agencies and Interpol in the fight against crime. Referring to several key directions of Interpol’s mission, Narine Hakobyan noted that the full utilization of the Notices and Diffusions system is of critical importance in enhancing the efficiency of law enforcement activities.
Representatives of Interpol Notices and Diffusions Task Force Alla Bachynska, Eve Latty and Martin Luna presented the scope of the Organization’s activities, functions, and key directions in the context of preventing, detecting and ensuring the effective progress of investigations into crime, emphasizing the importance of utilizing all available databases.

The differences and specifics of the activities of Interpol’s structural units were also presented, along with the formats of their interaction and operational systems, which ensure rapid, targeted and coordinated cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of member states.

The representative of the Notices and Diffusions Task Force, addressing the types of Notices and Diffusions circulated by Interpol, emphasized the importance of their legal framework and application specifics in the processes of international search, crime detection and information exchange.

Attention was also paid to the directions of cooperation with the Republic of Armenia, highlighting the specifics of operations carried out at the national level and the importance of systemic interaction. Through visual graphics participants were familiarized with a comprehensive analysis of notices received from Armenia which makes it possible to assess the dynamics of data circulation, the effectiveness of cooperation and the results of implemented measures. The Notices and Diffusions Task Force highly appreciated the joint work of the Interpol NCB in Armenia and other law enforcement agencies within the framework of Interpol Notices and Diffusions.

On the second day of the workshop, Interpol representatives visited the Interpol National Central Bureau in the Republic of Armenia where they were presented with problematic situations analysed through specific cases. Practical solutions and new formats for effective cooperation were discussed.
The training took place in an active question-and-answer atmosphere.

At the end of the training, participants were awarded certificates.
