Combating Illegal Migration: Police detain Woman Wanted on Human Trafficking Charges
As part of the fight against illegal migration, on November 2, officers of the General Department of Criminal Police and Vagharshapat Police division raided a number of hotels in the territory served by Vagharshapat police division, detecting dozens of foreign citizens living without a valid visa, residence status and with invalid documents.
They were transferred to the Passport and Visa Department, where protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up.
As part of the same operation, a 61-year-old foreign woman, wanted by the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Moldova, was found in one of the hotels in the village of Parakar and taken to Vagharshapat Police Division. Such operations are held regularly.
Note: Everyone charged with a criminal offence shall be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia and found guilty by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
