The criminal situation in the Republic of Armenia (February 18-19)
According to the operations reports of Police of the Republic of Armenia, 59 cases of crime were detected by officers of various police subdivisions in the territory of the republic from February 18 to February 19.
In particular, 14 cases of theft of personal property, 11 cases of fraud, 8 cases of illegal felling of trees, 3 cases of hooliganism and death threats, 2 cases of infliction of bodily injuries, squandering or embezzlement, abuse of official authority and battery, 1 case of kidnapping, theft of state or public property, drug detection, bribery, official forgery or official negligence, escaping from a penitentiary institution, damage to property through negligence, buying and selling foreign currency without a license, purchase and sale of property obtained by crime, smuggling and trafficking of drugs without intent to sell.
6 wanted persons have been detected, two others surrendered themseves to the Police, 3 cases of voluntary surrender of arms and ammunition have been registered.
From earlier committed crimes 3 cases of theft of personal property and 1 case of infliction of bodily injuries have been solved.
Over the past 1 day, 14 accidents have been registered in the Republic: 2 persons died, 18 people received bodily injuries of different levels of severity.
Note: Everyone charged with a criminal offence shall be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia and found guilty by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
