Armenian Police holds reception for the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to the Republic of Armenia (PHOTOS)
On Wednesday June 18 First Deputy Head of Police of the Republic of Armenia, Lieutenant General Hunan Poghosyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to the Republic of Armenia Shmuel Meirom and Embassy officials accompanying him.
Greeting the guests, Hunan Poghosyan mentioned that Armenian Police attach great importance to cooperation with foreign law enforcement agencies and noted that Armenian and Israeli law enforcers could develop a quite fruitful cooperation in the sphere of fight against terrorism, money laundering and transnational crimes.
Speaking about the criminogenic situation in the Republic of Armenia, Hunan Poghosyan defined it as stable and controllable.
The First Deputy Head of the RA Police introduced the ongoing police reforms, stating that the reforms are comprehensive and they aim to completely fulfil the tasks envisaged by the reform program.
Mr Shmuel Meirom expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended to him and assured of Israel’s readiness to promote bilateral cooperation. In his speech the Ambassador mentioned that Israel is to host a conference on internal security and cybersecurity in November, 2014. Mr Shmuel Meirom extended the host country’s invitation to participate in the conference.
The Meeting proceeded in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding.
The two sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
