Detainee charged with theft turns out to be wanted by Russian law enforcement bodies
On Sunday August 10 Tumas D., DOB 1966, was detained by officers of Kotayk marz, Armenia, on charges of theft.
On Tuesday August 12 officers from General Department of Criminal Intelligence and Kotayk division of the RA Police established that Tumas D. had also been wanted by Russian law enforcers charged under the Russian criminal code, article 161, part 1 /robbery/ since February 27 of this year.
Note: Everyone charged with a criminal offence shall be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia and found guilty by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
