Statement

In the last few hours, the civil initiative "My step" has been holding a meeting in the streets of Yerevan, which rather has a form of a rally. The organizer of the meeting is Deputy of the National Assembly Nikol Pashinyan.
Until now, the RA Police has not taken enhanced measures to protect public order and security in public places, since the organizer of the meeting has mostly fulfilled his obligations vested in the RA Law on Freedom of Assembly, and the meeting is of a peaceful, constitutional nature.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the conditions provided by the mentioned law are not fully observed, and in some cases the legal requirement to ensure the normal course of the rally is violated.
Police of the Republic of Armenia calls on the organizer and the participants of the rally to observe the peaceful nature of the meeting from now on, to refrain from holding rallies without notice or in violation of the conditions for notifying about them beforehand.
