Minsk plays host to a session of the Coordination Council of the heads of competent authorities on combating drug trafficking of the Collective Security Treaty Organization
The 14th session of the Coordinating council of heads of competent authorities on combating drug trafficking of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states took place in Minsk on November 28. The meeting was attended by first Deputy Head of Police of the Republic of Armenia, Police Major General Hunan Poghosyan.
Within the framework of the session a constructive discussion was held. In partuclar, the following issues were discussed during the meeting: enhancement of the role of the Coordinating council of heads of competent authorities on combating drug trafficking of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states, improvement of cooperation in combatting transnational narco-crime.
First Deputy Head of Police of the Republic of Armenia Hunan Poghosyan also made a speech at the session, introducing the results of the "Channel-Caucasus" local anti-drug operation. The Coordinating council highly assessed both the organizational level of the operation and the achieved results.
The participants of the meeting achieved general agreement to continue the close coperation and take joint anti-drug measures aimed at preventing illicit drug turnover and holding drug dealers criminally liable.
